Ryan's Day, the annual live music fundraiser founded by Austin inspirational hip-hop artist Ryan "Wheelz" Schmidt, returns for its 16th year on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 2 to 7 p.m. at The Field House (@ The Crossover, 1717 Scottsdale Drive, Suite 160, in Leander, TX.) This year's theme is "Sweeter Than Ever." There is no cover charge, and every donation supports Inspiration on Wheelz, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to raise awareness and help find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD).

Wheelz, who lives with DMD, will headline the afternoon and celebrate his upcoming 2027 album, "Keepin' It Country." Earlier this year, his story also reached the screen in "The Wheelz Documentary - Livin Through Music," shown at a community watch party at Reel Popcorn in Austin.
"As long as Ryan goes on, we go on, and the show goes on. Duchenne muscular dystrophy doesn't take breaks," says Leslie Schmidt, Ryan's mother and the driving force behind Inspiration on Wheelz. "We are grateful for 16 years of support. Together, we will end Duchenne."
The musical lineup features six Austin-area acts:
• Wheelz TheRapper
• Lixbox
• Reckless ATX
• Defenders of the Faith
• Cold Heart Cash
• Special Guests!
Lixbox has played every Ryan's Day since the event began. Their lead guitarist, Larry Schmidt, is Ryan's father and has served as the event's stage manager and talent coordinator from the start.
The afternoon also includes the 11th annual Wasabi Challenge, a crowd-favorite tradition inspired by the documentary "Darius Goes West," about the late rapper Darius Weems, who also lived with Duchenne. Guests can win prize drawings, bid in a live auction led by Ryan's uncle and longtime auctioneer Pete Bruhn, get their faces painted by Austin's very own Lady B's face painting, and choose from a variety of food trucks. The Field House is fully wheelchair accessible, stage included, with plenty of free parking.
Local businesses can support Ryan's Day 16 as sponsors. Every donation of $100 or more earns the business a logo spot on the venue Jumbotron during the event.
