Dale T. Stanton, a lifelong church musician, retired pastor, trained counselor and social worker, has completed his new book, "A Funny Thing Happened On the Way To Communion": a spiritual read on the hidden moments of comedic levity throughout the Bible.
Stanton shares, "Is the Bible a humorous book? Probably most people wouldn't think of it as being funny at all. Even as the Bible is regarded as the Word of God, we find considerable ungodly human activity, immorality, wars, rebellion, murder, adultery, demon possession, and just about every other facet of what we call the human condition. Yes, the Bible is full of some pretty serious and heavy stuff. In spite of all this, is there a remote possibility we might discover something amusing, something to bring a smile on our face, something that might even cause us to laugh?"
Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Dale T. Stanton's new book offers a look at the more lighthearted side of the bible with the elusive humorous elements sprinkled throughout the verses of the bible.
Readers can purchase "A Funny Thing Happened On the Way To Communion" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
