Sandra E. Hill, who has been an educator for 42 years, has completed her new book "The Runaway Toad": a meaningful children's story about Toby, a happy pet toad who leads a comfortable life inside a cage until one day an opportunity presents itself. When his tiny cage is left open, Toby escapes and, risking his life, desperately ventures into the unknown to find his mother and father.

Author Sandra E. Hill begins her story, writing, "In a five-year-old boy's bedroom stood a small cage atop his dresser. His name was Oliver, and the pet inside the cage was a miniature, two-inch toad named Toby. Toby had been in captivity for almost a year of his own eight years of life and was very happy living with his keeper, Oliver, who played with Toby every day. At night, Toby would hop around in his cage and nibble on small pieces of delicious fruits and vegetables that Oliver fed him. And he loved to watch the rest of Oliver's family's children roll and tumble about during their playtime. Toby often wished he was bigger, like his six-inch parents were, so that he could join in the fun. But he was quite proud of the fact that he was a descendant of a giant Australian cane toad who had lived to be fifteen years old and with a very large family."

Published by Newman Springs Publishing, Sandra E. Hill's imaginative tale invites readers to discover how Toby's adventure unfolds as he travels away from his home in search of his parents.

Readers who wish to experience this creative work can purchase "The Runaway Toad" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iBooks Store, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble.
