Baytown Awards Shop Donates Trophies to Local School Competition

Baytown, TX — A tried-and-true method of showing appreciation to staff members is the presentation of awards, plaques, or trophies. Awards & Engraving, a provider of specialty trophies, recently donated three trophies to the Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District (GCCISD) to help honor three schools within the district as “Salad Bowl Champions.”

GCCISD is a school district based in Baytown, including 16 elementary schools, five junior high schools, four high schools, a career center, and two alternative education centers. Schools within the GCCISD recently participated in the “It’s Time Texas Community Challenge.” According to the It’s Time Texas website, “the It’s Time Texas Community Challenge is an annual, free, statewide competition. During this eight-week competition, individuals, employers, communities, and school districts engage in a friendly competition to better their health and bring the topic of health to the forefront of their lives. Every point earned is a win for all of Texas.” Those who participate can win prizes for reaching goals by utilizing the community challenge mobile app.

Over 292 communities across Texas participated and the GCCISD won second place in the state for their participation this year. The GCCISD also named staff members from Ashbel Smith Elementary School, EF Green Junior, and the POINT Alternative Center as “Salad Bowl Champions” for their stellar involvement in the It’s Time Texas Community Challenge.
