Dr Neck Pain Formalises Three-Phase R3NEW X Neck Protocol in Singapore Clinic

Oct 12, 2026

Singapore chiropractic clinic sets out the phases, X-ray checkpoints and defined endpoint of its approach to treating chronic neck conditions.

Singapore, Singapore, October 12, 2026 /NewsNetwork/ -- Dr Neck Pain, the Singapore chiropractic clinic founded by Sweden-licensed Doctor of Chiropractic Dr Will Kalla, published the full framework for its R3NEW X™ neck protocol on October 2, 2026. The protocol organises care for chronic neck conditions into three trademarked phases. It uses standing X-rays at the start of care and at progress checkpoints to measure the neck's alignment, and it is designed to end when measured correction goals are met, followed by a self-maintenance plan.

Further details can be found at https://www.drneckpain.com/about

The announcement comes as neck pain remains one of the most common musculoskeletal conditions worldwide. A Global Burden of Disease analysis published in The Lancet Rheumatology in 2024 estimated that neck pain affected 203 million people in 2020. It projected that number would reach 269 million by 2050, driven mainly by population growth and ageing.

The protocol's name reflects its structure. "R3" stands for its three phases, Release, Reset and Recalibrate, and "X" for X-ray verification. The protocol focuses on cervical sagittal alignment, the front-to-back balance of the neck, including its natural curve.

In the first phase, Release (AxisFlex Protocol™), horizontal vibration and three-point vertical bending are used to address soft-tissue and fascial restrictions before realignment. The second phase, Reset (AxisFlow Adjust™), works to restore joint mobility and move the neck toward its natural curve. The third phase, Recalibrate (NeuroPosture Calibration™), combines a vibration platform with targeted weight placement for postural retraining, intended to help patients hold the corrected position.

Progress is tracked in two ways, says Dr Neck Pain. Standing X-rays measure changes such as the neck's curve and forward head position in millimetres. Patients also complete a questionnaire covering pain, daily function, concentration and sleep so the treatment plan can be adjusted on both structural and functional findings. To limit repeat imaging, patients may bring existing X-ray films up to one year old.

"A curve on an X-ray doesn't explain someone's pain by itself," said Dr Kalla. "What matters is whether the measured findings line up with the symptoms and the examination. That's why we assess first, measure on X-ray, and then check progress against both the films and how the patient is actually functioning day to day."

Care begins with a consultation that includes a health history review, a physical and neurological examination and X-ray analysis, after which the clinic advises whether the patient is suitable for treatment. Treatment plans run in blocks of 12, 24 or 36 sessions of 45 minutes each, typically at two to three visits a week. On completing care, patients receive posture, exercise and workplace ergonomic guidance for self-maintenance.

Dr Kalla describes the protocol as working on a different layer from physiotherapy and massage, which focus on muscle, rather than as a replacement for them.

"Physiotherapy and massage have their place, and many of our patients use them alongside chiropractic care," said Kalla. "Our focus is the alignment of the neck itself. Not every patient is a candidate, and when the examination or imaging points to something outside chiropractic scope, we refer them to a medical doctor."

Dr Kalla graduated from the Scandinavian Chiropractic College in Stockholm and is licensed by Sweden's National Board of Health and Welfare. His postgraduate training includes musculoskeletal and chronic pain rehabilitation, with study in Prague. He has appeared on Channel NewsAsia as an expert guest discussing scoliosis and spinal care. Dr Kalla has focused his practice exclusively on neck conditions since 2020, and according to the clinic has treated more than 3,000 neck pain patients.
