Empower Health Remains Open To See Patients Despite The Lockdown

Jun 1, 2020

June 01, 2020 - /PressAdvantage/ - St. Louis based Empower Health is pleased to announce that they will continue to serve residents of the greater Missouri area despite the COVID-19 pandemic. In a recently published video on Empower Health’s Facebook profile, clinic representative Dr. Kyle Longo states that they will remain open to see patients even though the COVID-19 stay-at-home order is still in effect.

“Obviously, there are CDC guidelines regarding disinfection that we will strictly adhere to,” says Longo. “These guidelines include wearing masks and using personal protective equipment (PPE). However, if you feel as though you’re not safe coming into the office because you may be part of the at-risk population—or you’re just uncomfortable for the time being—we have developed a telemedicine portal where you can have an online checkup and consultation.”

Empower Health asserts that a lot can be accomplished through their online telemedicine portal. The center explains that, through video clips and video calls, Dr. Longo will be able to see patients, watch them move and do exercises, and then make an initial assessment to address the patient’s condition. As noted on the center’s website, Empower Health offers a wide range of services, including laser therapy, decompression therapy, chiropractic treatments and more. Empower Health explains that laser therapy involves the use of various wavelengths and intensities of low levels of light to promote healing. They assure patients that, unlike surgical and aesthetic lasers (which use heat on the tissues to destroy tumors and coagulate body tissue), the low light level that they use in laser therapy does not heat a patient’s tissues.

Over the course of the therapy, however, the patient may be aware of the laser touching their skin. As such, it is important for them to know that laser therapy is quiet, painless and noninvasive. “Once the low level light is directed to the damaged or injured area of the body, the patient’s tissue will absorb the red and nearly infrared light. This light will then generate a response within the damaged cells that promotes regeneration,” says Dr. Longo.

Meanwhile, Empower Health also offers spinal decompression therapy, an effective non-surgical alternative to relieving back pain. Dr. Longo explains that this conservative treatment is often recommended prior to surgical spinal decompression. Patients should consider surgical spinal compression as their last resort, however, and the procedure should only be done if their chronic pain persists. As with the surgical option, he states that spinal decompression therapy is carried out for the alleviation of chronic symptoms that include pain, tingling, weakness and numbness caused by various spinal issues (such as slipped discs).

Notably, patients may seek out the clinic if they wish to engage in chiropractic treatments. Dr. Longo explains, “Chiropractic care is the school of treatment that gives importance to the musculoskeletal structure of the body in order to relieve pain and treat certain conditions. It is often performed as an alternative to medication or surgery because, unlike medication or surgery, chiropractic treatment is safer, more natural and non-invasive. However, those who have opted to push through with medication or surgery can still pair this with chiropractic care for maximum healing.” He adds that chiropractors utilize manipulation, touch and adjustment to restore the mobility of joints that have become restricted as a result of traumatic events or repetitive stress.

Furthermore, chiropractic care is known to be a proven method for healing pain connected to the bones, joints, connective tissue and muscles. Some sources of pain that can be treated by chiropractic care include muscle strain, sports injuries, accidents and even pain in the legs, arms, neck, back and head. Chiropractic care can lead to improvements in blood pressure, treat sciatica and scoliosis and relieve lower back pain, neck pain and headaches. It also helps reduce inflammation, improves athletic performance and treats vertigo.

Empower Health asserts that chiropractic care is one of the best and safest methods to relieve pain. In line with this, the clinic offers prenatal chiropractic care, pediatric chiropractic care and chiropractic services for personal injuries, pain relief and corrective care. The clinic also regularly posts infographic content regarding chiropractic care and other health-related issues on their Facebook page in order to keep the public educated about what they can do to keep themselves healthy.

Those interested may find more information on the clinic’s website or their GMB Listing. Similarly, social media users may connect with Empower Health via their preferred platforms, such as Facebook, to stay up to date with their latest news and important announcements.
