In addition to his medical degree, he earned a Master of Public Health degree, specializing in healthcare management and community health initiatives.
Maintaining the highest level of certifications in the field of cardiology, the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Furthermore, he is board-certified in echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography, and in nuclear medicine by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine.
An Accredited Member of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Gandelman is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiology, and a Fellow of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.
