Mordechai is the musical artist name for American Film Director and DJ/Music Producer, Tii Ricks. Complicated is the second single release from Mordechai. The debut single Deja vu is currently playing on the radio in over 40 countries, including the United States, Japan, Germany, China, and Australia, to name a few.
Complicated is a song about being in a relationship that is not working but hard to walk away from. It’s a song intended to empower people to realize it’s okay to move on from a situation that is not working and not stay stuck in something that makes them unhappy.
– I believe many of us can relate to the feeling of not always being sure if we are making the right choices, especially when it comes to relationships. Complicated is a song that expresses that feeling of being in love with someone that even if deep down you know the relationship might not be good you keep telling yourself it can change, says Tii Ricks. The song is also about empowering oneself to be brave and make difficult choices and feeling good about yourself, Tii Ricks continues.
The music of Mordechai is inspired for example by The Weeknd, Lorn, TroyBoi, and Blvck Ceiling, alongside some of the greatest dance and electronic DJs and music producers throughout the last few decades.
Tii Ricks is an American-Finnish London-based award-winning film director, screenwriter, and nowadays also music producer who was born in Germany to a Finnish mother and an American father serving in the US Military. She has directed feature films, awarded TV factual series’, and music videos.
Complicated is released globally on 9th June 2023 via Brandeca Music, supported by worldwide radio promotion and a music video edited in a fast-paced and colorful trending video style. The music video was directed and edited by Tii Ricks and filmed in multiple locations worldwide, for example, Los Angeles, Hawaii, London, and Norway, highlighting the breathtaking mountain views of Tromso.
