New York City, New York Nov 13, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - A highly esteemed medical professional,  Dr. Abdul Hamid has an extensive and diverse education and training background, being a leading expert in the realm of pediatric neurology and neuromuscular disorders. As a pediatric neurologist, he specializes in a wide range of neurological conditions, including but not limited to epilepsy, headaches, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, myasthenia gravis, myotonic dystrophy, neuromuscular disorders, pediatric movement disorders, seizures, spinal muscular atrophy, and tics and Tourette syndrome.

Back in the early days of his academic career, his educational journey began at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, where he earned his MD in 2016. His quest for knowledge and expertise led him to pursue a comprehensive internship and residency in Pediatrics at The University of Tennessee Medical Center, which he successfully completed in 2018. Driven by a passion for understanding and treating neurological conditions in children, he continued his specialization with a residency in Child Neurology at the same institution, solidifying his expertise in the field in 2021.

Recognizing the significance of neuromuscular disorders and the need for specialized care in this domain, Dr. Hamid sought further refinement of his skills through a fellowship in Neuromuscular disorders at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, which he completed in 2022.

Dedicated to clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in child neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology(ABPN). ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation that was founded in 1934 following conferences of committees appointed by the American Psychiatric Association, the American Neurological Association, and the then "Section on Nervous and Mental Diseases" of the American Medical Association.

Dr. Abdul Hamid's dedication to this field extends beyond clinical care, as he actively engages in research trials aimed at advancing treatment options for neuromuscular disorders. His research interests focus on outcome measures, new therapeutic interventions, and gene therapies. He is a firm believer in the transformative potential of gene therapy and is committed to exploring its applicability in the treatment of neuromuscular disorders.

On a more personal note, Dr. Hamid is fluent in both English and Arabic.
