Jul 11, 2019
July 11, 2019 - /PressAdvantage/ - RML Acoustics, LLC, based in Alachua, Florida, has announced that they are offering their services as hotel noise control consultants and more. Basically, what they are offering as hotel noise control consultant is their expertise in acoustical design and acoustical testing for buildings where people have problems with noise. One of the buildings where property owners would like to minimize noise and vibration problems is the hotel. Acoustical consultants from RML Acoustics can help in hotel building constructions or renovations.
Principal Acoustical Consultant Rob Lilkendey at RML Acoustics says, “We can solve your most challenging noise and vibration control problems. We can provide acoustical design services and MEP system noise and vibration control design services on a wide variety of building types from schematic design through construction. We can conduct exacting acoustical testing and measurements with precision grade acoustical equipment to determine compliance with building codes, noise ordinances, and project specifications, or as the basis for diagnosing noise problems in buildings and the environment. And we can provide expert witness testimony for the most controversial and demanding projects.”
RML Acoustics, LLC offers acoustical consulting services for a wide range of mechanical, architectural, and environmental projects. Some projects, like schools and hospitals, may combine several services, including architectural acoustic design, mechanical system design, environmental acoustic assessment and design, and post-construction acoustical measurements and testing.
Acoustical design projects often involve hotels, resorts and country clubs; multi-family residential and mixed-use buildings, whether high-rise or low-rise; themed entertainment; schools, K-12 and collegiate; hospitals; weapons training facilities; courthouses; restaurants, bars, nightclubs; performing arts facilities; and private residences.
Noise control and vibration isolation projects usually involve MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) noise control and vibration isolation; architectural noise control; and industrial noise control. Architectural noise control deals with sound transmission through building elements. Industrial noise control has to do with the use of acoustical barriers, room acoustic treatment, equipment enclosures, duct silencing, equipment modification, and more, to reduce workers’ exposure to noise.
Environmental noise control has to do with long-term noise monitoring of construction activities; industrial; energy plants and utility plants; outdoor amphitheaters; concrete batch plants, lime rock mining, etc.; multi-family housing near a highway; loading docks; restaurants with amplified music; transportation noise; racetracks; gun ranges; and commercial or private buildings with emergency generators, air-cooled chillers, or other large noise generating equipment.
RML Acoustics can also conduct IIC testing, which stands for Impact Insulation Class testing. An IIC is a rating that indicates the impact noise reduction provided by a floor/ceiling assembly when subjected to a standardized tapping machine and tested in a laboratory in accordance with the ASTM Standard E492. The company can also test for AIIC or Apparent Impact Insulation Class, which is tested in accordance with ASTM Standard E1007.
With regards to hotel noise control, one recent project involved a luxury hotel in South Beach, Miami, Florida, which required AIIC testing. Another project involved a new 5-story hotel near New Orleans, Louisiana, which required ASTC and AIIC testing. Another project involved a hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana, which required acoustical testing, diagnostics, recommendations, and design for interior renovations of an existing hotel. Still another project had to do with a hotel in Orlando, Florida, which needed acoustical testing as part of diligence phase.
RML Acoustics also provided full acoustical design services for Higgins Hotel and Conference Center at the WWII Museum in New Orleans, Louisiana. They also conducted acoustical design reviews for boutique hotels in Charlotte, North Carolina, and New Orleans, Louisiana.
