He has expertise in using the carbon dioxide laser for blepharoplasty to treat excess skin on the upper lids and bags under the lower lids. Likewise, he has extensive experience in the treatment of facial wrinkles and acne scars, correction of eyelid malposition, and removal of skin growths. He is accomplished in the use of Botox and collagen fillers such as Juvederm for facial wrinkles.
Bringing a high level of expertise in treating a wide range of children's eye disorders, Dr. Dewan is known for his compassionate and conscientious treatment of strabismus (eye misalignment), amblyopia (lazy eye), and tear duct obstruction. He holds faculty positions at Northeastern Ohio Medical University and Ohio State University, as well as serves on the active medical staff at Aultman Hospital, Mercy Medical Center, Surgical Hospital at Southwoods, Surgery Alliance, and Alliance Community Hospital.
With a broad educational background, Dr. Dewan received his medical degree at McGill University Faculty of Medicine, one of the top universities in Canada. He was Chief Resident during his residency in ophthalmology and completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology. He trained with leaders in the field of refractive surgery in various locations, including Long Island, New York, Columbus and Cleveland, Ohio.
Licensed to practice medicine in Ohio and California, he is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology, an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America.
