The creator of Swirl and Sparkle, Marii Lang, immigrated to the US from Vietnam as a child. As a family they had to be careful with money and this has instilled her with a love of DIY and hand crafted items. Marii was searching for a new beauty related project that was natural and chemical free, when she realized that she dreaded cleaning her makeup brushes. This is when she came up with Swirl and Sparkle.

Cleaning makeup brushes can be tiresome and messy but solid cleansers can take away the effort and mess. Marii has created a solid cleanser, available on Etsy, that is gentle, water saving and convenient to use. Once she had developed the formula she discovered that adding acrylic diamonds to the solid cleanser created a scrubbing action to make the cleanser even more effective and to get between the bristles. Finding the diamonds is also a fun aspect to using the cleanser.

To use the cleanser the user should moisten the solid cleanser with a little water and swirl the brush over the surface until it lathers. The user should then rinse the brush and repeat the process until the water is clear on rinsing. Brushes can then be laid flat on a towel to air dry. Swirl and Sparkle also offer a patent pending sugar diamonds lid that acts as an agitator to get even further into the brush bristles for a deep cleanse.

The solid cleansers are created from two formulas which are goats milk or vegan shea butter. Both offer a soft lathers to remove bacteria, makeup residue and dirt from makeup brushes.
