Dedicated to helping patients breathe better and live better, he is board certified in allergy and immunology by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI). The mission of the ABAI is to improve the quality of medical care by the development and utilization of professional and educational standards for the initial certification and maintenance of certification of physician specialists in allergy and immunology.

In 2021, he received both the Field Grade Officer of the Quarter Award for the fourth quarter and the Humanitarian Service Medal, underscoring his outstanding contributions and commitment to humanitarian causes. In the same year, he was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal, adding to his impressive list of achievements.
His dedication to excellence was previously acknowledged with an Air Force Commendation Medal in 2018 and an Air Force Achievement Medal in 2017 during his time at Keesler Medical Center.
Outside of his military career, Dr. Atchley is actively engaged in his local community and his church, exemplifying his commitment to service beyond the uniform. He has made significant contributions to the Children's Cancer Research Fund in both 2018 and 2019, demonstrating his compassion and commitment to making a positive impact on society.
Among his philanthropic endeavors include an Immunization Records Process Improvement, a Military Medical Deployment Line Process Improvement, The Dirt Therapy Project, and Mosaic Church; City Church Bandera.
When not immersed in his medical practice, Dr. Atchley treasures spending quality time with his family.
