Amsterdam, Netherlands Oct 23, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Tempest today announced that it is connecting to ERA-IX Amsterdam at NIKHEF as part of its continued European network expansion. The connection adds an Amsterdam peering point to the Tempest network and supports route diversity and more direct traffic-exchange opportunities within the Amsterdam metro for Tempest's dedicated-server, virtual dedicated-server, gaming, streaming, and enterprise infrastructure.
ERA-IX Amsterdam operates from multiple locations across its Amsterdam footprint, with NIKHEF serving as one of its core sites. ERA-IX's public Amsterdam page currently reports more than 192 connected networks, more than 15.23 Tbps of connected capacity, and more than 2.05 Tbps of peak traffic. Its route-server platform supports features including IRR-based route filtering, RPKI. Route Origin Validation filtering, BFD, and rapid shutdown handling.
'Adding ERA-IX Amsterdam at NIKHEF is another practical step in strengthening Tempest's European network,' said Jack Guild, CEO at Tempest. 'It gives us another Amsterdam peering point and more options to build resilient, well-connected infrastructure for customers with latency-sensitive and bandwidth-intensive workloads.'
