Germolene Toxic Labelling Failures at Bayer
London, United Kingdom Aug 16, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - On 11th December 2022, my beloved 9-year-old cat FELIX suffered terribly for four days then completely collapsed and died after I applied a moderate amount of GERMOLENE Antiseptic Cream to a few small dog bite wounds on his face. Dogs could also easily pick up a tube of GERMOLENE Antiseptic Cream in their mouths and pierce the tube with their teeth, almost certainly seriously injuring or killing them.
There is *NO WARNING* whatsoever on the tube of cream, on the box it is contained in, nor in the leaflet insert, to state that it is *HIGHLY TOXIC TO PETS AND OTHER ANIMALS*!
They won't even add the simple words *FOR USE ON HUMANS ONLY*!
On 23rd February 2023, Bayer PLC (UK) sent me a legally drafted formal letter which they call a final response' as they "now consider the matter closed".
However, the matter is most certainly NOT CLOSED!

BAYER AG based in Germany, which includes BAYER CORPORATION based in the USA, and BAYER PLC based in the UK, have repeatedly, over many decades, refused to add any sort of *WARNING* to their GERMOLENE antiseptic cream product, that it is *HIGHLY TOXIC TO PETS AND ANIMALS* and/or *FOR USE ON HUMANS ONLY*. They only state to *keep out of reach and sight of children". There is no statement to say "keep out of reach and sight of pets and other animals"!
Since late February 2023, Bayer and Bayer Pharmaceuticals continue to blank me and ignore my correspondence since I first wrote to them in February this year, 2023, after I discovered my beloved 9-year-old Tuxedo black and white cat FELIX horrifically suffered over four days, then tragically completely collapsed and died, due to my innocent, caring and cautious use of GERMOLENE Antiseptic Cream on his relatively minor facial dog bite wounds.
Furthermore, Bayer's new CEO BILL ANDERSON completely disregarded and disrespected my extensive and fairly comprehensive two complaints folders; he has also ignored my two suggestions to meet up with either himself or a relevant department head, despite me notifying him I will first be in Dusseldorf on Tuesday 4th July 2023 then Leverkusen, Germany on Wednesday 5th July 2023.
Despite this, I went ahead with my short trip to BAYER Ag in Leverkusen, where I insisted on speaking to a senior member of staff. Their Communications Manager came down and appeared to speak with me sympathetically. He promised to look into the matter and check how many other similar complaints had been made. He asked me to e-mail him all of my previously ignored correspondence and folders. Yet again, no acknowledgment or response whatsoever has been received!
